US joins cyber forces with Australia

The United States will partner with Australia in the global fight against cyber attacks.

The United States has a new partner in the global fight against cyber attacks. Australia’s attorney general, Nicola Roxon, signed a bilateral agreement with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano in Washington on Wednesday. This is a follow-up to Napolitano’s trip down under earlier this month.

The “Statement of Cybersecurity Intent” will enhance information sharing on cybersecurity threats and best practices. It will also create opportunities for joint training and cooperation in cyber exercises, DHS said.

This is the latest in series of joint statements signed by U.S. and Australian governments to increase intelligence sharing to combat transnational crime and secure the global supply chain.
