Dell develops iPad rival

Dell Inc. is developing a tablet computer called the Streak.

Dell Inc. said Tuesday it is developing a tablet computer called Streak that will run Google Inc.’s open-source Android operating system. The effort is the computer maker’s latest bid to catch up with tablet-computing pioneer Apple Inc., which sold its one millionth iPad in late April. Verizon Communications Inc. earlier this month said it is working with Google on a similar product. The Wall Street Journal reports the Streak will be able to connect to wireless Internet and third-generation cellular networks. It will include built-in Bluetooth connectivity and a five-megapixel camera, and will have a 5-inch screen.
