Cryptography is one of the building blocks of cybersecurity, and private sector companies and agencies are leveraging cryptography to make sure their networks and data are more secure. Paul Kocher is President and Chief Scientist of Cryptography Research, and they work with private sector companies and the Federal government on cybersecurity issues. Mr. Kocher told me why understanding cryptography is key to understanding cybersecurity, and we talked about the steps for agencies to apply cryptography principles to cybersecurity.
