Government employee groups, thought leaders expound on changes to TSP

November 4, 2009 - 4:25pm

From "House panel casts leery eye toward TSP mutual fund option" on FederalNewsRadio.com:

"The Thrift Savings Plan, on which millions of current and retired Feds stake their life savings and retirement, will be changing in the very near future.

"Yesterday, the House Subcommittee on the Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia, held an oversight hearing on those changes to the TSP - changes that subcommittee Chairman Steven Lynch (D.-Mass.) says were made possible by recently passed legislation.

"Greg Long, executive director of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, told the panel that the foundation for all the changes coming to the TSP will be recently-approved spending for IT infrastructure. "
