Congress returns this week to a full slate of work that will affect federal agencies one way or another — especially with less than a month before the fiscal year ends and few agency budgets appropriated.
The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities’ Jared Bernstein, who previously served as Vice President Joe Biden’s chief economic adviser, joined the Federal Drive with his take on what agencies should expect.
Bernstein addressed whether agencies should realistically brace for cuts, what effect the super committee’s negotiations will have and how recent White House guidance to cut 5 percent from 2013 agency budgets will play out for the upcoming fiscal year.
