The Pentagon will release a long-anticipated cyberspace operations strategy next week. NextGov reports the plan will not call for militarizing the cyber domain. Instead, it will take a missile-defense approach. An unclassified draft of the strategy shows the goal is to make it nearly impossible for enemies to accomplish a destructive attack.
DOD will build active defenses consisting of sensors, software and digital signatures into its networks. They’ll detect and stop malicious code before it ever affects operations. Also in the plan is a way to share classified threat intelligence with industry to help it protect critical infrastructure.
