Federal employees’ health care premiums will rise an average of 3.2 percent in 2015. The Office of Personnel Management announced the rate increases for the Federal Employees Health Benefits program ahead of Open Season, which will run from Nov. 10 – Dec. 8, 2014.

During Open Season, federal employees can shop around for the health, dental and vision plans that will serve them best.

Before joining NARFE, Snell spent nearly 30 years at OPM headquarters. At retirement, he was chief of the Retirement Benefits Branch, where among other things, he supervised the Open Season process for retirees. Snell served four years in the Air Force and has a BS from George Mason University.

He’s frequently quoted on federal retiree issues, including OPM’s retirement processing and retirement claims backlog, the FEHB program, the TSP, as well as Medicare and Social Security.
