Three Veterans Affairs whistleblowers receive Public Servant of the Year awards during breakfast ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Whistle for a Whistleblower Dr. Phyllis Hollenbeck's husband gave her this whistle as a present, knowing she likes jewelry. "It makes my friends smile and my enemies nervous," she said.

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, the Office of Special Counsel presented its "Public Servant of the Year" awards to three Veterans Affairs Department employees, including Hollenbeck.
