IT services contractor USfalcon Inc. has agreed to drop its protest of the General Services Administration's solicitation for its massive OASIS multiple-award contract. However, a second pre-award protest filed by Aljucar, Anvil-Incus and Company at the agency level is moving forward.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a three-year, $12 million contract to Cottrell Contracting Corp. of Chesapeake. The contract calls for dredging and removal of shoals from 90 miles of the James River in Virginia.

The Defense Information Systems Agency will issue several contracts under a unified capabilities initiative to move virtually all of DoD's communications onto Internet Protocol-based networks, and to better integrate voice, video and data services.
The FRTIB awarded Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) a five-year, $224.5 million contract. SAIC beat out several competitors including incumbent Serco.
