February 5, 2013 — The phrase “business process management” can mean anything from manufacturing cars with few defects to processing a health claim from a veteran.

Today on “Federal Tech Talk”, Kris Collo, CEO of MicroPact, unpacks some of the concepts of business process management for federal information technology professionals.

His company has a successful track record in many federal agencies, including organizations that are responsible for doing background investigations.

During the interview, Collo highlights a process improvement that was successful at the Department of Homeland Security.

In 2005, it took 189 days to complete an investigation. By 2012, the time was reduced to 44 days.

Saving 145 days improves readiness for the federal government and controls the wasted time for a person waiting.
