  • OPM wants to separate performance from pay when your manager rates you. Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller explains how that may work. He caught up with Michael Kane and Janie Payne today at the IRMCO conference to discuss the new working group, which held its first meeting yesterday.
  • The Defense Department has just released a new set of source selection guidelines that will soon apply to the entire Pentagon acquisition system. DoD says the document represents the first set of uniform procedures for source selection since the Federal Acquisition Regulations were first published in the 1980’s. It sets up standardized rating criteria for vendors’ technical and past performance, and requires the use of an independent Source Selection Advisory Council for any source selection valued at more than $100 million. The new procedures will go into effect in July. Federal News Radio’s Jared Serbu talked with Stan Soloway of the Professional Services Council about what the changes will mean for federal contractors.
