Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is pushing to change the way you access some major websites.

Schumer is asking the people behind sites like Twitter, Yahoo and Amazon to secure ALL traffic – not just pages with personal information, the New New Internet reports.

If companies agree, you’ll see a little “lock” icon on your Web browser when you visit. That’s just like what you get when you log into your bank’s Web site.

Schumer says the goal is to make it harder for hackers to snoop when you’re using public WiFi.
