Spam emails on the decline

InfoSecurity.com reports that three botnets have stopped their activities, leading to less spam.

Have you noticed fewer spam emails clogging up your inbox? You should have, since Christmas spam volume has declined almost 60 percent.

The decline is due in large part to a halt in the spam-sending activities of three botnets and unrest among pharmaceutical spam sending gangs, InfoSecurity reports.

There are likely other factors at work, such as consolidation and restructuring of pharmaceutical spam operations, this restructuring has led to instability in the market.
