Death of omnibus ‘unusual’

POLITICO reporter Shira Toeplitz explains why the last-minute pull-out of the omnibus bill is so odd.

Federal News Radio has been on budget watch all week as lawmakers on Capitol Hill work to fund the work that you do.

So far, none of the 13 spending bills have been passed. The Senate was expected to take action Thursday night on an omnibus spending bill that would have funded agencies through the rest of the fiscal year. But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid gave up on the bill Thursday.

Politico reporter Shira Toeplitz told the DorobekINSIDER why the move to pull out the omnibus was so usual.
