WikiLeaks exposes national security sites

The BBC reports that the WikiLeaks cable reveal locations that are of national security interest.

The country’s vital national security sites may have been given some unwanted transparency.

The BBC reports that among the latest rounds of WikiLeaks releases is a list of facilities around the world that the State Department has described as vital to national security. The list includes gas and oil pipelines, communication and transportation hubs.

There are no details of security measures at any of the listed sites. But the geographical range of the installations is called “extraordinary.”

The release is being condemned by the the U.K. Foreign Minister, Sir Malcolm Rifkind, who calls it the kind of information terrorists are interested in knowing.
