The WikiLeaks cables suggest that senior Chinese officials were behind an attack on Google earlier this year, the BBC reports.
Beijing has been “extremely concerned” about the use of high-resolution satellite imagery on Google’s mapping software, Google Earth, says the BBC.
After the attack, Google was forced to quit working within China, although Google has returned to China to a certain degree.
