When it comes to cybersecurity, you could be the weak link. It’s called social engineering, “the act of manipulating a person to accomplish goals that may or may not be in the ‘target’s’ best interest,” according to www.socialengineer.com.

At last month’s Defcon Conference in Las Vegas, hackers were able to play a social engineering version of Capture the Flag. The goal was simple: capture the virtual flags by hacking into unsuspecting companies.

So how did the hackers do? The results of the Capture the Flag competition demonstrated a real need for more training on how employees deal with security threats.

Three authors of a report about the Capture the Flag results joined the DorobekINSIDER to describe how hackers can easily infiltrate your systems — often with your help.

Guests were Chris Hadnagy, operations manager at Offensive Security; Jim O’Gorman, consultant at Continuum Worldwide; and Mati Aharoni, the founder of Offensive Security.
