Sure you've heard the horror stories about all the waste that comes from end of year spending.

But one professor says those anecdotes really aren't accurate, and he's published his findings in a new study.

Ramji Balakrishnan is a Harry B. Carlson/KPMG professor of accounting at the University of Iowa.

He tells us why he felt compelled to do this study, and why he thinks the end of year spending spree stereotype is wrong.
