A new law allows people to carry rifles, handguns and assault weapons into National Parks, as along as it is consistent with state laws.

Lawmakers who backed the bill say it defends the Second Amendment. But a group representing National Park Rangers is against it.

Scott McElven is President of the Association of National Park Rangers, and is a retired chief ranger.
