  • The Government Printing Office has asked for permission to offer early buyouts. GPO has put in a request to offer up to $25,000 lump-sum buyouts and early outs to its 2,200 employees. GPO wants to reduce staff by fifteen percent, that means cutting 330 jobs.
  • The Department of Homeland Security hired a contractor to develop its technology infrastructure. DHS gave General Dynamics an $867 million contract to provide infrastructure services. This is the second time in less then a year DHS hired a contractor for this job.
  • OPM has released its final rule on locality pay. They are adopting their interim rule as their final rule. The interim rule established separate locality pay areas for Alaska and Hawaii and extended coverage for the rest of US locality pay area.
