Director of Technology Policy for the Committee on House Administration

Reynold Schweickhardt was named Director of Technology Policy for the Committee on House Administration in February of 2011. In that role Schweickhardt provides Technology oversight for the House of Representatives and legislative branch agencies. He has prior service at the Committee from 1995 to 2003 as Deputy Staff Director and as a professional staff member.

Schweickhardt provides direction for technical projects including Cyber Security, New Media usage, mobile devices, legislative drafting standards and tools, House and Committee video standards & infrastructure. The Committee has oversight of the Library of Congress, Government Printing Office, US Capitol Police, Architect of the Capitol, and the Smithsonian Institution.

From 2003 to early 2011 Schweickhardt worked at the U.S. Government Printing Office for 8 years holding positions as Acting Chief of Staff, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Information Officer. Schweickhardt’s work included modernizing infrastructure, supporting the development of mobile applications and providing support for the next generation US Passport and the creation of a smart card production capability for security products.

Before moving to the Washington DC area Schweickhardt was employed by Hewlett- Packard for 11 years as an Research & Development Project Manager and as a Member of the Technical Staff.
