There’s no shortage of think tanks in Washington. One of their favorite topics is the Defense Department — what it should do, and how much it should spend on what.

The Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments gave itself and three fellow think tanks a single assignment: Come up with a 10-year DoD spending plan within the limits as they exist now. Senior Fellow Todd Harrison discussed where they agreed and disagreed.

Suicides in the Army fell by 19 percent last year — a welcome break that reversed a nearly 10-year rise. The Army has tried an all-hands-on-deck STARRS. It’s run by the Army and the National Institute of Mental Health. Dr. Michael Schoenbaum, with NIMH, and Dr. Kenneth Cox, with the Army Public Health Command, have more.
