Some computer scientists see the president's executive order on cybersecurity as vindication. Computer scientist and former Navy Seal Jon Iadonisi had been predicting a cyber 9-11 long before former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta used the term. Iadonisi says policy makers need greater digital insights to deal with cyber threats, and now, they may be coming around.

As the push for a raise in the minimum wage moves forward, the Labor Department is marking its 100th anniversary this week. The Pentagon has begun work on a long-term plan to guide strategy and procurement decisions for the next 20 years. The 2014 Quadrennial Defense Review will lay out how the military can stay on top, despite budget constraints and fewer boots on the ground.
