Oracle releases patch for Java software

Computerworld reports, several security firms have tested the patch and say it works. Before the patch, the security community was warning people to disable or uninstall Java plug-ins from their browsers.
Oracle has made the patch available at its website. The company says its server and standalone desktop software were unaffected by the security hole.
