BAE makes a move for more sub work

BAE Systems is relocating its submarine propulsion production from Minneapolis to Louisville.

BAE Systems is relocating its submarine propulsion production from Minneapolis to Louisville. Business First reports BAE decided to relocate the work to Louisville to save money. The Navy’s Naval Sea Systems Command awarded BAE a $9 million contract for work on Virginia class submarine propulsion systems. These subs are designed for open ocean and littoral missions around the world. The Louisville plant is producing the propulsor that will be used in the USS John Warner, which is expected to be delivered in 2015.
