McAfee adds to protection service with Sentrigo

Sentrigo\'s flagship product, Hedgehog Enterprise, monitors databases for illegal or unauthorized activity.

McAfee is acquiring database security firm Sentrigo. Sentrigo provides vulnerability management, database activity monitoring, and virtual patching technologies. A part of McAfee’s Security Innovation Alliance program, Sentrigo’s products were already offered under the McAfee brand. Info Security reports the move increases McAfee’s presence in the database security market, which is estimated to reach more than $600 million by 2012.
