Lots of computer smarties could help the federal government with its cyber security problem. But arcane rules prevent them from doing so.

Lots of computer smarties could help the federal government with its cyber security problem. But arcane rules prevent them from doing so. That was the message former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge delivered at a conference. NextGov reports, Ridge was flanked by his two successors, Michael Chertoff and Janet Napolitano. Ridge said Congress should reform what he called outdated rules against individuals collaborating with the federal government. He said, too much red tape prevents friendly hackers from lending their talents to the cyber challenge.
