The “Pathways to Public Service” roundtable discussion was held in conjunction with the fiftieth anniversary of the Kennedy Inaugural. The topic: to find ways to inspire and attract a new generation to work in public service. John Della Volpe is the Harvard Institute of Politics polling director. He directs their national polling project on so-called millennials and public service. He says the roundtable brought together more than a dozen government, private sector and academia organizations to discuss how to engage millennials, and how to create opportunities for young people in federal government.
