Spam experts move to high alert

It\'s too quiet on the cyber front.

It’s quiet… too quiet. Security experts fear that cyber spammers are planning new attacks, following a lull in activity after Christmas day. That’s when some of the world’s big criminal spamming groups shut down without explanation. Cybersecurity experts tell USA Today the criminals may be regrouping to launch sneakier and more lucrative online scams. The Rustock Botnet, which is the world’s biggest source of unsolicited e-mail, has already started spreading spam again in low volumes. It uses a network of nearly 2-million hijacked computers to send out e-mail ads for fake drugs.
