The overall effort to get some momentum behind Health IT has gotten a boost. For Health IT to work, there needs to be certification bodies. The federal government is in the business of certifying the certifiers. Dr. Doug Fridsma, director of the Office of Standards and Interoperability at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT at HHS, explains how their certification process works.
