Most Americans skip online shopping

Learn more in today\'s cybersecurity update

As the holiday shopping season, and Cyber Monday, grow closer, you might think more of us are shopping online.

Nope.

A new poll by the National Cyber Security Alliance finds that 64 percent of Americans haven’t been shopping online because of security concerns. This might not be a bad thing. Turns out 60 percent of the responses showed that if customers weren’t sure if the site was secure, they wouldn’t buy anything. Just over half said they weren’t comfortable providing the detailed personal information that the site asked for. Online shopping is still a popular activity for most of us…but more Americans are coming more aware of security risks, and they’re heeding the warnings.
