General Dynamics gets shot at missile work

General Dynamics is going to get a chance to bid on a systems and engineering support contract for the Ballistic Missile Defense System. It is a five year contract that could be worth up to $1.6 billion for the companies that bid on it. The Washington Business Journal reports that General Dynamics will compete for task orders to provide program management and planning, technical, engineering and general-level support and advisory and assistance services. If chosen, it will do the work at different locations throughout the country, including Ft. Belvoir. The Missile Defense Agency was created in 2002. It is developing systems that destroy missiles in flight.
