Nuclear weapons and how to keep them from spreading worldwide have been concerns for the United States for decades. Too often, discovery of a new nation acquiring nuclear weapons comes after a test explosion has occurred. But what if it were possible to model behaviors of nations to predict which ones are likely to get nuclear weapons? Such a model is being developed at North Carolina State University. Professor Man-Sung Yim, professor of nuclear engineering at NC State, recently briefed lawmakers on his work. Now he joins us to tell us about it.
