McAfee 3.0 to focus on better cyberprotection

McAfee plans to provide better protection, not only at the PC and server software level, but in the network appliance, embedded system and cloud-computing areas

Call it “McAfee 3.0.” That’s what McAfee CEO Dave DeWalt is calling the next generation of products that will reflect the software technologies of the company, and the hardware capabilities of new parent owner Intel, the New New Internet reports. Speaking at a recent technology conference, DeWalt says future products will continue to provide desktop and server-focused software protection, but will also work to strengthen network and system security. Intel bought the security company in August for $7.68 billion.
