Rhode Island Congressman Jim Langevin has introduced a bill to give the government more power to regulate systems that control critical infrastructure in the U.S.. Langevin says the government lacks the authority it needs. The proposal would give the Department of Homeland Security authority to create, verify and enforce measures to protect those systems from cyber attack. DHS would have to work with industry and other federal departments to draft those measures.
