Mexican border gets extra reinforcement

The House approved a measure to increase security and surveillance along the Mexican border

While in town for their one-day special session, the House acted to increase surveillance and security along the Mexican border. The new measure adds more unmanned surveillance planes and an extra 1,500 border agents. The Senate has passed an identical bill, but they still need to do some work before the president can sign it. Peter DeShazo, director of the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, joined the Federal Drive to discuss how the measure will affect the government’s border crackdown.
