How do you save money and build a high-tech Navy ship at the same time? The answer is Value Engineering. We continue our series on the Defense Value Engineering Achievement Awards. Monday, we spoke with a team that builds mine-resistant vehicles for troops. Today, we hear from a person instrumental in building the Littoral Combat Ship. That's a fast and agile vessel designed to counter both underwater and surface threats. Navy Capt. Michael Good is Program Manager for the Littoral Combat Ship Mission Modules. We asked him to describe how the ship works.
