Changes are coming to Washington’s green spaces

The National Capital Planning Commission last week adopted a finalized proposal to enhance the District’s parks and other recreational spaces. Among the recommendations in the plan (pdf) are increasing the maintenance of city parks, and improving schoolyards and park-centered activities for children. As part of the CapitalSpace project, the NCPC is working with the D.C. agencies and the National Park Service. NCPC’s Director of Intergovernmental affairs Julia Koster, gives us a sneak peek of changes in the works.
