With the advent of the smart grid, the energy economy of the nation is changing.

And that means expanded duties for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

We caught up with Commissioner Philip Moeller at a recent conference.

He described how the smart grid initiative is affecting FERC and the kind of expertise it needs.
