Congress, State Department slow program to sell drones

A Pentagon program to sell drones and other weapons technologies overseas has run into a snag.

The Defense Department drafted guidelines last year that would revamp export rules for weapons and other military goods. Under the plan, as many as 66 countries would be able to buy drones.

But NBC News reports that Congress and the State Department haven't yet signed off on the program.

Defense companies hope the changes will boost their bottom lines as the DOD budget shrinks.
