F-35 program leader says production should slow

F-35 Joint Strike Fighter production should slow down a bit, says the program's chief, Navy Vice Adm. David Venlet. Potential airframe cracks and hot spots are showing up on the planes, Reuters reports.
Adm. Venlet told AOL Defense most of them are small but there are a lot of them and they are expensive to fix. Admiral Venlet also called the acquisition strategy for the planes, called concurrency, a "miscalculation" and said the planes needed more changes than expected to make the full 8,000 flight hours needed.
