GUEST BIOGRAPHY: Joe Picciano

Joe Picciano was a Deputy Regional Director at FEMA and served as the Deputy Principal Federal Official for the Katrina response effort. As Acting Regional Director for FEMA’s New York City Office he oversaw the World Trade Center federal recovery effort and over $8 billion in assistance. As the Deputy Director for Preparedness for the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness, Joe was responsible for overseeing the State’s Homeland Security funded programs, and authored catastrophic planning proposals resulting in the successful procurement of catastrophic planning efforts across New Jersey. In January of this year, Joe established Preparedness and Resiliency Solutions, LLC, a consultancy that supports the development of business continuity plans and develops proposals for public/private sector ventures with integrated planning.
