WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro says train service has been suspended on the blue, orange and silver lines between Farragut West and L’Enfant Plaza due to a water main break at Metro Center.

The transit agency is urging commuters to consider alternate travel options Monday on the blue, orange and silver lines heading to downtown Washington. Metro says a water main break at 12th and F streets is causing the disruption.

Metro says there are major delays and crowding after train service was suspended. Shuttle buses are being provided.

A Metro spokesman says water has come down into the Metro Center station and flooded the lower-level tracks.

Service on the yellow, green and red lines is operating normally.
