Canceled furlough day welcome, but what about Aug. 30?

July 17, 2013 — This week on “Your Turn” Colleen M. Kelley, president of the National Treasury Employees Union, discusses the latest developments in how the Internal Revenue Service has handled furloughs due to sequestration.

Yesterday, Deputy IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel sent an email to agency employees telling them the planned furlough day for July 22 was canceled.

While Kelley was pleased by the news, she’d still like to see IRS cancel its planned furlough day for Aug. 30.
