You really can't judge a book by its cover. This book has a rather dry title: Special Publication 800-53. In reality, it's the bible of cybersecurity, and it's produced by the computer security experts at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. 800-53 just received its most extensive revision since 2005. To find out what's new, we turn to Ron Ross, a NIST fellow in information security and risk management.

The Green Building Advisory Committee is recommending the government adopt the LEED standard. That could help building managers measure progress on energy- efficiency goals. Kevin Kampschroer is the director of the Office of Federal High-Performance Green Buildings at GSA. He told Federal News Radio executive editor Jason Miller why the committee decided on LEED.
