Larry Allen, former head of the coalition for government procurement and now president of the Allen Federal Business Partners, told the DorobekINSIDER that his big story of 2010 is the effort to make acquisition more sustainable.
The General Services Administration announced in October it was requiring all projects to received a Gold LEED certification through the U.S. Green Building Council.
GSA also launched a carbon footprint tool that helps agencies calculate their greenness.
Sustainability is an issue that is that is "permeating every aspect of acquisition," Allen said.
