  • Oil produced on land owned by the federal government accounts for nearly 30 percent of the U.S. production. 20 percent of natural gas production occurs on federal land. Bloomberg Government energy analyst Rob Barnett and economic analyst Jason Arvello will discuss the benefits of onshore drilling in the aftermath of BP’s offshore disaster, along with what the departure of Ken Salazar means to the Department of the Interior.

Jason Arvelo is an economic analyst at Bloomberg Government. Before joining Bloomberg, he was a managing/senior analyst for Compass Lexecon, where he evaluated the economics of regulatory and legislative matters. Arvelo holds a master’s degree from Cornell University and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Florida.
