The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Leukemia Ball, presented by PhRMA, will return to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on Saturday, March 28, 2015. The annual event will feature the comedic talents of Howie Mandel, and a musical performance by Michael Cavanaugh.

The 2015 Leukemia Ball is led by Sr. co-chair Dan Waetjen, Group President at BB&T Bank, and co-chair Ed Offterdinger, Executive Managing Partner of Baker Tilly Virchow and Krause. The co-chairs oversee a stellar Executive Committee of more than 60 of the area’s most talented, committed business leaders who volunteer to plan the Ball and raise millions of dollars in support of LLS’s mission.

Thanks to the generosity of the local Mercedes-Benz dealers, guests will once again have the opportunity to win one of two brand-new Mercedes-Benz vehicles. As the Raffle Presenting Sponsor for the 19th, year, local Mercedes-Benz dealers have donated a 2015 C400 4Matic (MSRP: $48,590) and a 2015 GLA250 4MATIC (MSRP: $33,300) to be raffled off the night of the event. BB&T will be honored as the 2015 Titan of Business & Philanthropy at the event, in recognition of the extraordinary difference they have made in the local community through their support of LLS and its mission.

The James L. Eichberg Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Onyx will be presented to the McLaughlin family, who lost their son and brother, Ryan, to leukemia in 1999. The McLaughlin Family spent the next 15 years doing everything they could to prevent others from experiencing a tragic loss, and will be honored for their efforts at the Ball.

Since 1988, the annual Leukemia Ball has raised nearly $50 million for LLS’s mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Each year, teams of dedicated volunteers have exceeded all goals and expectations, making the Leukemia Ball one of the largest, most-anticipated non-political black-tie events in Washington, DC.
