O’FALLON, Ill. (AP) — A Virginia-based software company has announced plans to bring more than 70 new information technology jobs to Scott Air Force Base.

SuprTEK recently secured a five-year, $59 million contract to develop and test web-based software applications for Air Mobility Command, located at the military base in St. Clair County. The Belleville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/1wnwzJD ) reports that software will support the command’s global, air refueling and aeromedical missions.

The chief executive officer of SuprTEK says the company will build new capabilities for the Air Mobility Command and create a pure Agile Software Development factory.

A SuprTEK spokeswoman says the company’s O’Fallon-based workforce of consultants will increase from 225 workers to 300 workers. She says the new employees will be hired in the next few months.
