NEW YORK (AP) — S&P Dow Jones Indices says that Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. will soon be joining the S&P 500 index.

The Miami-based cruise line operator will replace packaging maker Bemis Co., which is moving to the S&P MidCap 400. Bemis will replace Concur Technologies Inc., a software company being acquired by SAP AG.

Other changes include software maker Tyler Technologies Inc. replacing Tibco Software Inc. in the S&P MidCap 400. Tibco is being acquired by a private equity firm. Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd., an insurance and reinsurance provider, will replace Tyler Technologies in the S&P SmallCap 600.

The changes will take effect after the market closes on Thursday.
